We both know this, as does anyone that has ever cracked open a book on our pantheon. I can only imagine that being raped twice by your very own father and then bearing his children - her children - only to have one of them murdered, is hardly something that allows one to be constantly emotionally stable. Considering that the man who has upset Melinoe is the very same man that has hurt her before, I am not surprised that Mother is angry.
Melinoe now has to deal with several things, sir. Firstly, the fact that she was raised to believe that you are legitimately her father and she fits securely into the family model. Secondly, there is the knowledge that she is a child of rape and treachery. Thirdly, sir, no one enjoys being lied to. Though I cannot claim to know which, if any, of these things she is struggling with, they are all possibilities.
Anger, however, is easy to misappropriate. It is not your fault that you do not know your daughters - yes, sir, I believe Melinoe is your daughter, as you have hard far more influence over her than Zeus ever did - when the Titans that bind us here are the ones who plucked you from your place in history. I am also aware you know this already, and I apologize for my blatant repetition of banal ideas.
They are upset. Emotions must be allowed to run their course, sir, while, if possible, managing to maintain understanding. I believe understanding has already been compromised.
