I have a new job as a secretary/file clerk where Phonos is employed. I start tomorrow, and I'm quite excited.

So, you have my thanks, Phonos. Truly.

That's late, what kind of place is it?

Oh. I guess a place like that would have to be open late.

Indeed they do.

No, it's kind of like your last job, right? It's just strange to picture a secretary at a morgue.

A bit, yes. But someone is needed to file the proper paperwork and print reports, right?

Definitely. I guess that is one thing about this time that can be annoying, everything leads to paperwork.

It's very true, but then, how would they keep records of their history if there was no paperwork of sorts?

We managed before fairly well but there was nearly as much information. When someone died they did not need to be um examined.

Laws are very different now, and sometimes it helps the families of those who have gone on to know what happened to the departed if, say, it was mysterious circumstances such as a sudden illness. Sometimes the examinations are not needed, but if it's a crime of a sort it can be evidence to present in courts.

There are a variety of reasons behind such things. I learned them well at my former job.

...That makes sense. I have lost enough family to understand how that would be valuable to people.
